Jo Frary’s passion for Art, Architecture, and Design can be traced back to her childhood where she loved taking rides with her family through her city’s old neighborhoods.  The grand old Victorian and Craftsman houses were her favorites.  She pursued art classes in both high school, and at Colorado State University where she majored in Interior Design.  In all of her work, she chooses to work with pure, saturated color mostly, rather than neutrals, as is reflected in her own home.  This passion for color is also influenced by time spent in her gardens; and florals often find a place in her alcohol ink paintings.  Having followed her husband around the world in his military career, living in England and Germany also has had an impact on her work.  These days, Jo tries to practice living by this quote attributed to Dale Carnegie, “the essence of all art is to have pleasure in giving pleasure.”
