For the past 20 years, I’ve done watercolor painting intermittently, while I worked as an education consultant. I don’t have an art education background–I’m mostly self-taught, especially in the beginning. For several years, I painted the buildings in Fairplay, Colorado in whimsical styles and sold several of those works. Twice, I participated in the Fairplay Plein Air Art Festival and sold all of those works. In the past year, I’ve taken some classes again — a Steve Griggs workshop and classes by Kristine Orr and Cindy Welch — to get my painting “juices” going again.
In December 2019, I was invited to put two small paintings in the Show “Small Wonders” at the Edge Gallery in Lakewood. This month, January 24-February 9, I’m placing two more paintings in the Edge Gallery Open Show, “Beyond Botanic.”My husband, John (who also paints), and I have lived in Castle Rock 2 years now and are finally retired!
