Spencer Cox is a landscape photographer who specializes in large-format film photography. He practices a slow-paced method of photography that involves hiking to distant landscapes with massive 11×14 or 12×20 cameras, usually carrying just one film holder at a time (allowing him to compose two photos per trip). He then hand-develops the negatives and makes prints using traditional darkroom techniques, without any digital steps in the process. The resulting prints have a depth and permanence that is unusual in today’s digital world.
